Entry is now open for the Lothian Junior Championships 2022
This is an individual tournament only open to those who live in our catchment area - City of Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian, West Lothian and The Scottish Borders council areas. As we have not been able to hold a team event this year we will also have a team element to the tournament. The top 3 players scores from each school or club in a section will be added up to give a team total and the top scoring schools and clubs will receive a prize.
We are returning to St George’s School, where we held the Scottish Girls Championships on 12th June, for this tournament. This has the advantage of a large space for parents and players to wait between games. It does mean that spaces are limited though, so make sure you enter as soon as possible to secure your spot. Our cancellation policy means that as long as you let us know by midnight the day before the event that you won’t be coming, for whatever reason, we will refund your entry fee.
This is a great chance to boost your grade by a few extra points before the end of the season, and to get some over the board practice in if you’re going down to the Gigafinals in July.
The Championships will be graded on the Chess Scotland Allegro list.
